Really let loose and enjoy your family while boating the open waters of Table Rock Lake at the Big Bay Recreation Area. Mark Twain Forest has the perfect destination for you. All of these areas are also available to non-motorized boating and some feature ideal floating currents for a variety of activities the whole family can enjoy.

Current River at Float Camp Recreation Area

Although the Current River is mainly used for floating activities, the concrete ramp at Bay Nothing Boat Launch provides a quieter experience of the river along with picturesque fishing opportunities. Mingle with other boaters and tubers while you travel downstream. Find your party scene on any of the many sand and gravel bars that provide ideal resting spots to stretch your legs and engage in a little conversation with fellow floaters.

Table Rock Lake at Big Bay Recreation Area

With 53,000 acres of water to explore, Table Rock Lake provides an ideal location for family fun. This day use area provides ideal locations for picnicking, fishing, and all-around family fun. With vaulted restrooms and parking near the boat ramp and picnic area, this is a beautiful location to enjoy everything the Ozarks have to offer.

Beaver Lake Recreation Area

For a more personal boating experience, check out Beaver Lake. The gravel boat launch and primitive camping experience provide a picturesque backdrop for serious anglers. The 15-acre lake is stocked with a variety of fish including channel catfish, bluegill, redear sunfish, and black bass. Haul in your catch for the day, build a fire, and relax while you take in the scenery in this beautiful glimpse of natural living in the Ozarks.

Non-motorized Boating

Are you looking for a natural experience far from the loud hums of multi-horsepower engines? The Mark Twain Forest has over 25 ideal locations specifically for non-motorized boating. Are you planning on traveling with a large group? Be sure to spend a day at Pinewoods Lake Recreation Area.

Maybe you want a quiet and serene natural experience with loads of fishing potential. If that’s the case, you’ll want to spend your time at Ripley Lake Recreation Area. The Ozarks has the perfect place for any outdoor excursion.

Pinewoods Lake Recreation Area

With a concrete boat ramp, floating fishing pier, and large populations of bass, sunfish and catfish; Pinewoods Lake offers an excellent location for large groups interested in fishing and enjoying the day picnicking or hiking. The 1.3-mile trail encircles the lake and provides beautiful views of local flora and fauna. The picnic pavilion accommodates up to 75 people with tables and grills. Elsinore, Missouri, just 3 miles away, has restaurants, a grocery store, and a fuel station in case you need to pick up a few last minute items.

Ripley Lake Recreation Area

Ripley Lake provides paddlers with picturesque and primitive boating and camping experiences. Since only electric motors are allowed, this quiet and serene 29-acre lake offers amazing fishing opportunities with large populations of catfish and bass. Feel free to pick berries and drive or walk any of the forest roads. Beautiful wildflowers are in full bloom during the Spring in this area making it perfect for nature-viewing and offering ample photo opportunities.
